The CDC plans to award a sole source purchase order to Battelle Eastern Science and Technology for the synthesis of six atrazine metabolites—three native and three labeled—including Didealkylated-atrazine mercapturate (DAAM), De-ethylated-atrazine mercapturate (DEAM), and De-isopropylated-atrazine mercapturate (DIAM). Each compound is required in amounts ranging from 100 to 1000 mg with approximately 95% purity. Battelle is expected to deliver all synthesized compounds along with a comprehensive final report outlining experimental conditions and characterization data. The timeline for delivery of the native compounds is set at three weeks, underscoring the urgency tied to the CDC's ongoing research efforts. This procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1 as a sole source purchase, emphasizing the need for continuity in current CDC research activities. Although no competitive solicitation is issued, other firms capable of meeting these synthesis requirements are invited to submit written notifications within 15 days of the synopsis publication to be considered for competition. The determination to proceed without competition rests solely with the Government. Communication regarding this procurement can be directed to the identified CDC contracting specialists via email or fax for further clarification or inquiries.
