The U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking to procure the fabrication of two boat landing platforms designed to be suspended above water alongside ships at the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet. These platforms are intended to facilitate safe boarding and debarking of personnel via ship’s accommodation ladders, as well as allow docking of water taxis, work boats, or patrol boats. The fabrication must adhere to specific drawings provided by the government, with the government furnishing the fabrication drawings, while the contractor is responsible for manufacturing the platforms. The completed platforms are to be delivered to the MARAD facility in Benicia, California. The solicitation process has undergone multiple amendments, primarily to update the pricing sheet, clarify responses to bidder questions, and adjust the submission deadline to September 19, 2025. The contract is designated as a small business set-aside under NAICS code 336611, emphasizing opportunities for small businesses. The contract emphasizes that the hanging of the platforms from ships will be performed by SBRF personnel, not the contractor. The primary points of contact for this procurement are Robert McDermott and Scott Lewis, with the solicitation details accessible via the provided online link.
