This contract pertains to the procurement of additional components for an existing Finisar performance monitoring system used within a Storage Area Network (SAN) environment. The Finisar monitoring hardware and software are distinctive in their ability to monitor traffic via an optical mirror, capturing performance and capacity data during high workloads without impacting server or storage resources. These products ensure no data loss under heavy load, support non-disruptive probe upgrades, and feature clientless hardware monitors that eliminate the need for software updates or maintenance on servers and storage units. The requested components must be fully compatible with the current Finisar-based system, continuing the reliable performance monitoring capabilities already in place. The purchasing preference is for Small Businesses, and suppliers must demonstrate authorization to resell Finisar products. The Department of Commerce’s Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, VA, is the contracting agency, with Anice M. Ogden serving as the Contracting Officer and primary point of contact. Interested parties are encouraged to communicate via email rather than phone, specifically through the provided email address. The procurement aligns with NAICS code 511210 and is listed under solicitation number 297P0650089 with the intention to source through GSA Schedule vendors.

Full Description

Finisar monitoring hardware and software products preserves performance and capacity data in a Storage Area Network (SAN) environment. Finisar monitoring hardware and software products are the only products on the market that look at the traffic through an optical mirror; capture data during high workloads without being a resource problem on the servers or the storage; do not drop performance data under high loads; probe upgrades can be done non-disruptively; software upgrades have no effect on applications because the hardware monitors are clientless; and, there is no software on the servers or the storage to update or maintain. The items we are requesting to purchase are additional components to our current performance monitoring system and are the most compatible with our current system. Our current system components are Finisar Products. We prefer GSA Schedule sources that can provide this product. Small Businesses are given preference. You must demonstrate you are an authorized reseller of this product. Please email anice.ogden@uspto.gov. E-mails are preferred over phone calls.
