The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System plans to award a sole source contract to Four Points Technology, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, for the purchase of seven Intermetro Industries Flo 1760 Integrated Workstation Medical Carts configured specifically to match existing units in the department. These carts are designed to accommodate Dell E6400 laptops and feature consistent fit, finish, operability, and connectivity with currently used medical carts, allowing staff to transition seamlessly without additional training or risk of damage. The carts are noted for their quality construction and balance, important in a dynamic therapy environment with patient safety concerns. The procurement is justified under the authority of FAR 6.302-5 and relevant U.S. Code, ensuring compliance with regulations mandating the award to SDVOSB vendors on a sole source basis. The purchase includes detailed configurations of the carts and associated accessories, such as power supplies, monitor mounts, keyboards, and wireless networking components, all necessary to maintain operational uniformity. The solicitation is not open for competition but allows interested parties to submit expressions of interest and supporting information by a specified deadline for the Contracting Officer’s consideration in case a competitive procurement becomes necessary. The responsible contracting office is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with Ronald S. Mazzei as the designated contact. The procurement falls under NAICS code 423450 with a small business size standard of 100 employees.
