The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market insights regarding advanced solutions for mobile device forensics, specifically targeted to support the Digital Evidence Recovery and Technical Support Unit (DERTSU). This RFI seeks information on comprehensive all-in-one hardware and software tools capable of forensically sound extraction and examination of mobile device data, including logical, file system, and physical extraction when applicable. Respondents are expected to provide technologies that support major mobile communication standards and operating systems across a broad range of handset models, with frequent updates and an evidence verification engine to validate recovered data. Additionally, the tool should be capable of handling source codes from device manufacturers prior to retail launch, positioning the FWS to assess emerging forensic technologies that best meet their operational needs. This RFI is strictly for information gathering and market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or contract offer; therefore, no official bids or proposals will be accepted. Respondents are informed that submissions may be used by FWS without obligation and that any hardware or software provided for testing will be returned after evaluation. The FWS will not reimburse any expenses related to this process. Interested parties are invited to submit their responses and provide hardware/software samples for evaluation by the deadline outlined, helping inform any future procurements related to mobile device data extraction and analysis equipment. The goal is to enhance DERTSU's digital forensic capabilities to aid multi-jurisdictional wildlife crime investigations through cutting-edge technology solutions.
