70 -- TUMBLEWEED MAILGATE APPLIANCES, PROCESSOR LICENSE & GOLD SUPPORT

The US Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina has a Brand Name requirement for the purchase and delivery of Tumbleweed Mailgate items and one (1) Gold Maintenance and Support Plan. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation number H92239-07-T-0055 is issued as a Request for Quotation, under simplified acquisition procedures. The NAICS code is 443120. The size standard is $8.0 million. This requirement is 100% set aside for Small Business. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18. REQUIREMENT: As stated this is a Brand Name Justification and items are essential to the Government?s requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. USASOC employs the Tumbleweed Desktop Validator for certificate validation. The Tumbleweed MailGate is the only product on the market that provides a seamless interface with the Validator without incurring additonal expenses for integration and configuration. Utilizing a single manufacturer will eliminate the potential for disagreements between contractors on whose product is at fault should system failure or configuration problems arise. Gold Maintenance and Support Plan for 3 years 1 each Gold Support package shall be 14x5 providing telephone, email and web support fourteen (14) hours a day, five (5) days a week, excluding holidays. Such identification is intended to be descriptive and restrictive to indicate the quality and characteristics of products that will be satisfactory.
