70--Varian Eclipse Equipment Smart Segmentation Software

Letter of Intent The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price contract for a Smart Segmentation Eclipse System Software for the Durham VAMC, with Varian Medical Systems Inc. Varian Medical System Inc. is the sole distributor of the requested Oncology software. This procurement will be in accordance with FAR 5.202(a)(13). This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that this equipment is highly specialized and is only available via one source. The requested product will be procured without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of supply will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of November 16, 2018, to Varian Medical System Inc., 3100 Hansen Way Palo Alto, CA 94304-1038. This is a Brand-Name Only requirement to satisfy the minimum requirements of the Durham VAMC Oncology Clinic. The requiring activity is currently in need Smart Segmentation Eclipse System Software. The Smart Segmentation Eclipse System Software will seamlessly integrate into the existing Varian Oncology infrastructure already in place within the Durham VAMC. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals.
