California Resources Production Corporation is authorized by the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) to rework the Lehnhardt 116 well (API #0403062545) in the Kern Front Oil Field. The primary objective of the project is to address well integrity issues and improve overall performance. The scope of work includes utilizing a completion rig to pull out the kill string, installing a 5.5 inch inner casing string cemented to approximately 1,916 feet MD, and conducting a CalGEM-witnessed Surface Annulus Pressure Test (SAPT) before installing production equipment and returning the well to production. The project is classified as a forecast with a posted date of August 12, 2025, and is governed by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). It has been granted several categorical exemptions, including Classes 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8, as the work involves existing facilities and minor land alterations without new ground surface disturbance or the construction of permanent facilities. All operations will be conducted using temporary mobile equipment and vehicles, and all waste materials must be disposed of according to applicable laws and regulations. CalGEM is responsible for the inspection and formal acceptance of the work, specifically the witnessing of the SAPT at the well site in Kern County.
