The National Cemetery Administration (NCA), specifically the Oakland Memorial Service Network Five acting on behalf of Tahoma National Cemetery, intends to procure new office furniture through a purchase order. This acquisition involves awarding the contract to National Business Furniture via other than full and open competition procedures, justified under statutory authority citing 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(2) and FAR Part 6.302-1(a). The rationale for limiting competition is that National Business Furniture is the sole proprietor and exclusive distributor of the required furniture, and no other suppliers meet the agency’s specifications. The estimated cost for the furniture, as detailed in the vendor’s quote QL134358, is $8,440.86. Efforts to promote competition include posting a notice in accordance with FAR part 5, though market research confirms no other sources are available or have expressed interest. The price is considered fair and reasonable based on prior market comparisons, and it is anticipated that this procurement will be a one-time requirement with no future acquisitions expected. The contracting specialist certifies the accuracy of these details. This acquisition is associated with solicitation number VA78615Q0270 under NAICS code 337211, managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Cemetery Administration.
