Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Alaska Fire Service has previously purchased systems furniture, specifically Herman Miller. Due to budget constraints it is necessary to match existing systems furniture rather than re-purchase new systems every time space management requires a new configuration. Current configuration and stockpile will not allow us to complete the new workstations required. We have checked other companies and Herman Miller is the only source that can match our existing system series. It is not interchangeable with other manufacturers.
