The Mobile District Office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase, installation, and cleanup of office furniture to Knoll, Inc., located in East Greenville, Pennsylvania. This sole-source procurement is justified under FAR 6.302 due to the need to maintain compatibility and interchangeability of spare parts with the existing KNOLL modular office furniture already installed throughout the building. The choice to continue with Knoll furniture is driven by the frequent reconfigurations required in the building and the associated cost savings, which make it in the government's best interest to purchase furniture from a single brand to ensure seamless integration and efficiency. The contract falls under the NAICS code 337214, with Knoll, Inc. employing approximately 100 people. Although this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids, the government will consider any responses submitted within ten calendar days of the notice publication date, retaining sole discretion on whether to pursue competition. The contracting activity is managed by the U.S. Army Engineer District in Mobile, Alabama, with Joe Moody serving as the point of contact. The procurement will likely be executed via a GSA contract, emphasizing streamlined acquisition in line with government regulations and requirements.
