76--NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - American Institute of Physics Incorporated

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office plans to award a sole source contract to the American Institute of Physics Incorporated for the procurement of electronic access to the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and Geophysics. As the exclusive publisher and provider of this electronic access, the American Institute of Physics is the only source from which the government intends to purchase these electronic journal subscriptions under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This acquisition will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13, and no competitive solicitation will be issued. Although this is a sole source acquisition, interested parties may submit written capabilities statements for consideration by the government until 12:00 p.m. CST on January 31, 2012. Submissions must be made in writing and addressed to the designated point of contact via email, referencing the solicitation number W81EWF13466962. Oral communications will not be accepted. This action is intended to fulfill the government's need for continued access to high-quality, authoritative scientific journals essential to its research and development efforts.
