P13PS01473 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Posted July 24, 2013 THIS IS A PROPOSED SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT NOTE. Interested parties may respond to this notice by contacting Patricia Hemingway at +1 (555) 000-0000 or via email contact@example.gov prior to August 7, 2013. The National Park Service intends to issue a solicitation to Fiber Optic Systems, Inc. on a sole source basis to up-date a static three dimensional Fiber Optic Map which was installed by Fiber Optic Systems, Inc. in 2004 and interface with new fiber optic embedded technology . The new fiber optic embedded technology must be compatible with the existing Fiber Optic Map. The map and embedded lights must use a system of digital timers and conditional switches that fire each of over 6, 200 fiber optic terminals in various colors. The digital switches and timers must be programmed in such a way that they fire in a strict sequence that follows complex movements and actions in several areas on the map at one time. The fiber optic terminals must be sequenced with narration and scrolling closed captioning display. The light terminals must be embedded in such a way that they are not noticeable until lit. The company must provide a warranty on all parts and labor for a period of two years. The Government, therefore, intends to solicit, negotiate, and/or purchase this requirement on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S. C. 253(c) (1) as the only responsible source available to provide this installation. Any other firms desiring consideration are requested to provide (1) evidence that they can provide the required up-date and interface of the existing Optic Map that was installed by Fiber Optic Systems, Inc. in 2004 with new embedded technology as specified above, including references (POC with current telephone number for recently installed system, within fifteen (15) calendar days of the posting of this synopsis, to Patricia Hemingway, NER, Acquisition Philadelphia Office, National Park Service, via email to contact@example.gov. NAICS Code 811211. A determination by the Government not to Open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
