The Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, is a 127-building facility established in 1961.
The scope of work provides for the phased replacement of aging gas-fired condensing boilers and associated equipment serving multiple campus buildings. The existing boilers were installed in approximately 2004 and are approaching the end of their useful service life. The project will include evaluation of existing systems, replacement of boilers and associated controls, upgrades to mechanical and electrical infrastructure as required, and integration with existing building automation systems. The project is intended to improve system reliability, reduce maintenance costs, enhance energy efficiency, and mitigate the risk of heating system failures that could disrupt campus operations. The work may be implemented in multiple phases, based on facility priorities, equipment condition, funding availability, and operational requirements. Hazardous materials may be encountered. The A/E shall assess the project for eligibility under applicable utility incentive programs, energy grants, rebates, and other funding opportunities. The A/E shall identify all qualifying programs and shall prepare, coordinate, and submit all required applications, calculations, supporting documentation, and related materials necessary to obtain available incentives for the project.
