The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center is conducting market research to identify providers capable of designing or supplying ventilating insoles for combat boots, specifically for use in challenging environments such as tropical jungles. The desired product must be readily available or developable within six months and must adhere to Berry compliant manufacturing. Key technical requirements include water-resistant materials, high breathability, shock attenuation, and the ability to drain sweat and water while resisting degradation from fungus and bacteria. Additionally, the insoles must be durable enough for six months of combat use without causing pressure points or requiring a break-in period. Interested sources must respond within fourteen days of the notice by providing detailed information on their firm's experience, facilities, domestic production capabilities, and current product pricing. Submissions should include independent laboratory test results and a single product sample, though the government will not provide payment or return samples. This effort is strictly for market research and acquisition strategy development; it is not a request for quotations, and no funding has been allocated for the program at this time.
