The contract pertains to the qualification procedures for vendors wishing to participate in procurement activities conducted by the USDA Farm Service Agency's Kansas City Commodity Office. This office is responsible for acquiring a variety of products used in both domestic and international feeding programs. International procurements are carried out under the Commodity Credit Corporation’s authority to support programs managed by USAID and the Foreign Agricultural Service, with distribution handled through private volunteer organizations such as CARE, Catholic Relief Services, or the World Food Program. Domestic procurements supply food for schools, disaster relief, needy families, and Native American communities under USDA authorities, responding to food commitments from the Food and Nutrition Service. All prospective contractors must undergo a reexamination and validation process of qualification requirements before submitting bids, ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations. Vendors must submit a complete qualification package, which will be reviewed by the Kansas City Commodity Office to determine eligibility for the Qualified Bidders List. Only those on this list may submit bids, and incomplete applications will result in bid rejection. Relevant contract information, including solicitation terms, invitations for bid, and historical awards, is accessible online.
