***PLEASE CONTACT RAYNE IVEY/ARCS WITH ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR TO SUBMIT CAPABILITIES TO contact@example.gov NASA/MSFC has a requirement for four (4) StepanFoam S-180 Polyurethane Foam Materials Kits, to support material testing for Thermal Protection System (TPS)qualification. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from J6 Polymers LLC on a sole source basis. J6 Polymers LLC is the manufactrurer and only supplier of S-180 cryo-insulation material. The S-180 material has been specified as the manual spray cryo-insulation TPS material for the Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage and is therefore required as part of TPS qualifications. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 6/12/2015 by 12:00 p.m. CST. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
