In fiscal year 2003, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is conducting a competitive sourcing study in accordance with OMB Circular A-76 and related guidelines to assess the cost effectiveness of performing certain functions in-house versus contracting them out to the private sector. The study focuses on five key in-house commercial activities: architectural and engineering functions, construction operations, maintenance operations, facility operations, and real property/space management. This review aims to determine the most efficient means of service delivery, with all studies slated for completion by September 15, 2003. The outcome may lead to future solicitations but is not guaranteed. Additionally, the CDC plans to transition some operational and functional support services to contracts, using both existing and new agreements. These services cover areas such as ADP services, special studies and analysis, regulatory and program management support, and other non-manufacturing operations. This contract notice serves for informational purposes only, without specifying a particular solicitation or set-aside, and interested parties may contact Jennifer Nelson for further information.
