The Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Campbell, KY, plans to award a firm-fixed-price Blanket Purchase Agreement to Stericycle, Inc. for pickup and disposal of international waste and regulated garbage at Campbell Army Airfield. This contract, spanning three years, is contingent upon fund availability and will be procured as a sole source under simplified acquisition procedures due to an existing compliance agreement between Fort Campbell and Stericycle, which ensures adherence to relevant federal regulations governing waste disposal. This sole source action is justified on the grounds that Stericycle is the only reasonable source capable of meeting the specialized compliance requirements. The procurement falls under NAICS code 562112 with a small business size standard of $12.5 million. Although this notice does not solicit competitive offers, other firms with the capability to meet the requirements may submit a written notice of interest within ten days of the synopsis publication. Submission of supporting evidence is required to demonstrate compliance capability, but the government retains sole discretion to proceed with Stericycle if it chooses not to compete the contract. Responses were due by June 25, 2012, via email or fax, and further inquiries were directed to specific contracting officers at Fort Campbell.
