Full Description

The National Airspace is composed of a number of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and monitoring system and management facilities. Within this system, 20 Air Traffic Control Centers located in the Continental United States (CONUS) manage the bulk of air traffic. The Air Traffic Controllers use sector boundaries and sector traffic information to control air traffic in their respective sector(s). The EnRoute Information Display System (ERIDS) displays that information in their monitor. It also provides the capability to enter Pilot Reports easily for dissemination throughout the center and the electronic data to other Center operational personnel and management personnel. The FAA intends to purchase 900 ERIDS Monitor Head Bumpers. Air Traffic Controllers are hitting their heads on the monitors and the Monitor Head Bumpers will be installed on the ERIDS controller displays as a safety measurement. Each unit is 3 inches X 3 inches X 12 inches, has a steel skeleton for attachment to the monitors and is covered with soft gray foam. Interested parties who can meet this requirement called for in this announcement must respond by 4 p.m., local time on May 30, 2008 via email to contact@example.gov The FAA SHALL NOT be liable for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to the request for information, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs associated with the preparation of responses to the request for information, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs incurred by any party responding to this announcement.

Aviation Research BAA 2025
Solicitation # 692M15-25-R-00004
The Aviation Research BAA 2025, solicitation number 692M15-25-R-00004, is a long-term initiative sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support basic and applied research at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace. Valid from December 5, 2024, through December 4, 2034, this Broad Agency Announcement seeks to advance the state-of-the-art in aerospace safety and efficiency across five primary program branches: Airport Technology R&D, Software and Systems, Structures and Propulsion, Separation Standards Analysis, and Fire Safety. The FAA encourages submissions from a diverse range of offerors, including academia, industry, and small businesses, to address evolving air transportation challenges. The solicitation utilizes a phased submission process where interested parties first submit brief white papers for specific Topics of Interest. If a white paper is deemed meritorious, the FAA may request a formal proposal consisting of a technical volume and a price/cost volume. Awards are made bilaterally based on a favorable feasibility assessment, with cost analyzed for reasonableness and realism rather than being a rated factor. While funding varies by project, rough order of magnitude estimates range from $100,000 to $1.2 million per award, with many projects anticipated to be funded annually for a period of 12 to 36 months. All offerors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award.
