In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), Section 3.2.2.4 the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to award with a selected source via single source procedures. The FAA intends to enter into a single source award with ADEK Industrial Computers, of Hudson, NH. The Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System Resolution Advisory (TCAS RA) Monitoring system will deploy specially configured racks to 20 radar sites to monitor TCAS performance. It will collect and reduce radar data and send it back to a central site at the Technical Center for further analysis. Many of these radar sites are un-manned, so the systems are designed to function with a minimum of human intervention. Once development and deployment are complete, this equipment will be transferred over to Technical Operations (TechOps) for operation and maintenance. It is mandatory that these additional systems have the same configuration as the existing units for logistical, maintenance and software upgrade reasons. Quantities and part numbers are as follows: 40 Rack mount computers, 20 Rack mounted keyboard, monitor, trackball trays with a built in KVM switch and 20 extra custom cables for the KVM switches. The Federal Aviation Administration is soliciting proposals for armed security guard services at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This effort is a total Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Business 8(a) set-aside and will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price contract. The period of performance consists of a two-month transition period starting approximately February 1, 2027, followed by a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. The scope of work involves protecting approximately 5,059 acres, including the Transportation Security Laboratory, with duties encompassing access control, crime deterrence, emergency response, and command-and-control operations. Strict personnel requirements are in place, including mandatory drug testing, firearms qualifications, and specific educational degrees for program managers and supervisors. Aviation Research BAA 2025
Solicitation # 692M15-25-R-00004
The Aviation Research BAA 2025, solicitation number 692M15-25-R-00004, is a long-term initiative sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support basic and applied research at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace. Valid from December 5, 2024, through December 4, 2034, this Broad Agency Announcement seeks to advance the state-of-the-art in aerospace safety and efficiency across five primary program branches: Airport Technology R&D, Software and Systems, Structures and Propulsion, Separation Standards Analysis, and Fire Safety. The FAA encourages submissions from a diverse range of offerors, including academia, industry, and small businesses, to address evolving air transportation challenges. The solicitation utilizes a phased submission process where interested parties first submit brief white papers for specific Topics of Interest. If a white paper is deemed meritorious, the FAA may request a formal proposal consisting of a technical volume and a price/cost volume. Awards are made bilaterally based on a favorable feasibility assessment, with cost analyzed for reasonableness and realism rather than being a rated factor. While funding varies by project, rough order of magnitude estimates range from $100,000 to $1.2 million per award, with many projects anticipated to be funded annually for a period of 12 to 36 months. All offerors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award.
