The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) plans to issue a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) around July 7, 2003, aimed at advancing research on future technologies and integration methods for the GOES-R end-to-end system. This BAA seeks to support studies in four key areas: the space and launch segment, C-3, product generation and distribution, and overall systems integration. The goal is to identify architectural approaches, assess associated risks, and prepare for subsequent Design and Risk Reduction contracts. Although the official release date may vary slightly, it is expected no later than July 11, 2003. Industry participants are encouraged to submit proposals demonstrating feasible architectural solutions to support the GOES-R mission. The announcement will identify qualified respondents whose offerings present valuable opportunities for system advancement. Interested parties can monitor the status and obtain updates or Q&A about the GOES-R architecture studies through NOAA’s dedicated website. Further inquiries may be directed to NOAA’s Contracting Officer, providing a direct channel for clarification and engagement prior to the BAA release.

Industry is encouraged to participate in this upcoming phase. The purpose of the BAA is (1) to advance research in four areas of study: space and launch segment; C-3; product generation, distribution, archive and access; and end-to-end systems integration; and (2), to identify and document risks and system trades in the Offerors' various architectures in preparation for the Design and Risk Reduction contracts to be issued following completion of this BAA. This BAA will identify qualified Respondents whose Proposals offer feasible architectural study opportunities in support of the GOES-R mission. Potential Offerors may check the status of the BAA announcement at the following web site, http://www.osd.noaa.gov/goesr_arch_study/index.htm, where the updates and questions and answers about the GOES-R architecture studies will be placed. Any potentially interested Offerors who have questions may also contact the NOAA Contracting Officer, Mr. Jay Moore, at e-mail contact@example.gov, or at +1 (555) 000-0000.
