A--CONTINUATION OF SPACE FLIGHT SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS ON THEINTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION

NASA's Glenn Research Center plans to extend its contract with ZIN Technologies, Inc. through the end of 2013 for continued support in the development, design, and operations of space flight systems and related ground activities, particularly for the International Space Station (ISS) Research and Human Research Programs. This contract extension is justified under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clause 6.302-1, allowing for an award without competition due to ZIN Technologies being the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency’s highly specialized requirements within existing schedule and budget constraints. ZIN Technologies is the incumbent prime contractor under the SpaceDOC Contract, which concludes on December 31, 2013. The company has unique expertise and a longstanding relationship with NASA in delivering space flight hardware solutions, making them essential for the continuation of these critical space flight support services. The additional work scope represents a direct continuation of existing tasks, ensuring uninterrupted progress on NASA’s space mission objectives.
