A--Cooperative Partnership and Opportunity

The US Geological Survey's Research Chemistry Project within the Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team is collaborating with PerkinElmer through a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA) aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometers (ICP-MS) for geochemical analysis. This partnership focuses on advancing both hardware and software solutions to address complex challenges in analytical geochemistry. Unlike a traditional procurement, this CRADA involves a mutual contribution of resources such as funds, equipment, or in-kind services from both the federal agency and the partner to support the research efforts. This planned research initiative represents an opportunity for joint innovation rather than a contract for goods or services. The Department of the Interior’s Office of Acquisition Grants-National manages the agreement, with their office located in Reston, Virginia.
