The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a modification to an existing contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation for the procurement of additional RQ-8B Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) under the Fire Scout UAV system. This action will be conducted on a non-competitive basis because Northrop Grumman is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Fire Scout UAV, possessing unique technical knowledge, expertise, and proprietary data related to the system's design and architecture. The modification seeks to expand the current contract, number N00019-00-C-0277, to fulfill the Navy’s requirements for these additional UAVs. This notice is informational and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals, although subcontractors with relevant technical capabilities are encouraged to contact Northrop Grumman directly. The contract is managed under the Naval Air Systems Command within the Department of Defense and is aligned with NAICS code 928110. The contracting office is located in Patuxent River, Maryland, and the primary point of contact is Contract Specialist Kevin H. Faughnan. This action supports the continued development and deployment of the Fire Scout UAVs, sustaining a platform that plays a critical role in naval aviation operations.
