The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is hosting an Industry Day on May 25, 2006, at the Georgetown University Conference Center in Washington, DC, to present details about an upcoming Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) supporting science and technology efforts for the Army and Marine Corps Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program. This ONR initiative, known as the Combat Science and Technology Vehicle (CSTV) efforts, seeks proposals focused on Conceptual Designs, Trades, Mockups, and Variable Load and Height Suspension Systems. The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to noon, and interested participants must register by 4:00 p.m. (EST) on May 23, 2006, with late registrations managed on a case-by-case basis due to potential space limitations. The forthcoming BAA will invite submissions targeting two main task areas: first, JLTV Conceptual Designs, Trades, and Mockups which involve documentation reviews, component and system technology assessments, modeling and simulation, design development, full-scale mockup fabrication, and reporting; second, Variable Load and Height Suspension System tasks include documentation review, technology trades, simulation and performance analysis, development of conceptual suspension designs, fabrication and testing of a full-scale suspension assembly (one vehicle corner), and final reporting. All event-related expenses are to be covered by the attendees, and details on registration and venue specifics will be available on the ONR website. Program contacts are available for further inquiries, and the BAA is expected to be published on federal and ONR websites prior to the Industry Day.
