Solicitation Number: VA248-12-I-1313 Notice Type: Sole Source Synopsis: The James A. Haley Veterans Affairs Hospital (VA), Tampa, FL. intends to negotiate a noncompetitive award to Sensor Tech Corporation, 100 Industrial Drive, Greenville. SC. 29607. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source in accordance with FAR 8.402(f) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a) (2). This procurement is based on the determination that the governments' minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from only one source. These devices support Prevention & Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) research activities requiring measures of manually applied force. This procurement is for force sensing gloves for research activities at the James A. Haley (Health Service Research & Development/Rehabilitation Research & Development Research Center of Excellence (HSR&D/RR&D Research COE). Sensor Tech force golf gloves provide the capability to measure impact force and grip force during evaluation of the PMDB takedown techniques. Product: Hand Sensor Array, includes 1 pair of XL gold gloves (right and left) with single point sensors sewn onto the exterior of the fingers, thumb and palm regions. Total 16 sensors per glove with wire lead of 12 inches. Sensors Un-calibrated. Qty 5 each. Interested vendors are requested to submit Technical Information that includes, but not limited to the following: 1) reference to Sources Sought number; 2) company name, address, telephone number, and website address (if available); 3) the type of business (large or small); 4) the name, telephone number, and e-mail address of a technical point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with Contracting Specialist and 5) technical literature regarding the type of gloves your company can provide. Response should be received no later than 10 A.M. Eastern Time May 2, 2012 and shall be submitted via e-mail to contact@example.gov. No telephone calls will be accepted. James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Notice, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement or payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) will arise as a result of submission of responses to this Notice and James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) use of such information. James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so, respondents are responsible for identifying proprietary components, interfaces and equipment, and clearly mark restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted / non-proprietary information.
