The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking bids for the purchase of two ADA-compliant multi-passenger buses equipped with mobility lifts to meet transportation needs at two Veterans Homes: one at Union Grove and one at King. These buses will primarily transport members to recreational activities and occasional non-emergency medical appointments, especially when contracted vendors are unavailable. The vehicles are expected to operate mostly locally within Racine and Lincoln Counties, traveling approximately 500 to 1,000 miles per month, with occasional trips beyond these areas. The required buses must accommodate both ambulatory and non-ambulatory members, including those confined to wheelchairs, ensuring ADA compliance. The department plans to award up to two contracts through this solicitation, with the submission deadline set for May 19, 2026. Erin Schmitz serves as the primary contact for this bid opportunity. The procurement supports the goal of providing accessible and reliable transportation options tailored to the specific needs of veterans residing at the Wisconsin Veterans Homes.
