The General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service has issued a notice of intent to add open market items to an existing Federal Supply Schedule task order awarded to BAE Systems for Foreign Military Sales services in Iraq. Originally awarded on August 13, 2012, this task order includes a base year and four option years, primarily focused on Construction Program Management Services at Balad Air Base. The addition of open market items became necessary to support the task order's performance and includes peripheral telecommunications and telephone equipment and services, insurance coverage (DBA/BTA), and visa processing. The total value of these additional open market items and services is not to exceed $75,000. These open market items underwent competitive solicitation, with a minimum of three quotes obtained to ensure pricing fairness and compliance with established cost-reimbursement guidelines. The task order and associated purchases comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations to meet the Foreign Military Sales client’s needs, but this notice does not commit GSA to modify the task order or award new purchase orders. The Government retains discretion over whether to compete this requirement further and will not cover any costs incurred by parties responding to this notice. The point of contact for this action is Jennifer L. Gherardini of the GSA in Chicago.
