Consistent with Chapter 862 of the Laws of 1990, the agency name below requested an exemption from initially publishing this contract opportunity in the procurement opportunities newsletter, i.e. the NYS Contract Reporter. In accordance with Section 144(2)(e) of the Economic Development Law, the Office of the State Comptroller has granted the exemption. This Exemption Request allows us to contract with Translogic Corporation/Swisslog Healthcare. SUNY Upstate Medical University has Translogic Pneumatic Tubing Systems and is the proprietary company, the only vendor who can service their systems. Pneumatic tube systems require regular inspection, maintenance and modernization, quality parts and ongoing staff training for optimal performance. Swisslog Healthcare strongly recommends that their customers have a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Agreement in place to ensure factory-trained Swisslog Field Service Engineers keep their systems functioning at peak efficiency.
