THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential sources capable of performing the effort described herein pursuant to FAR part 10, Market Research and FAR part 19, Small Business Programs. This is for planning purposes only. Any information submitted by respondents to this Source Sought Notice is voluntary. The Air Force does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Respondents should not construe this notice as a commitment by the Air Force for any purpose, and should refrain from providing proprietary information in the response. 1. INTRODUCTION: This is the initial step in the planning process for Air Cooled Dry Pumps. The 377 MSG/PKB at Kirtland Air Force Base seeks sources to provide Air Cooled Dry Pumps (specifications attached). 377 MSG/PKB anticipates conducting a competitive acquisition for this effort. The effort is expected to result in a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. NAICS code is anticipated to be 333914, size standard 750. --- Specifications: Air Cooled Dry Pumps Air Cooled Multi Roots Pumps will be used to achieve first stage low pressure conditions necessary for achieving the ultra-high vacuum conditions required for all experiments conducted in the Plasma Chemistry lab. Pumps will need to mate to the current apparatus and should be maintenance free for at least 3 years to reduce long term costs. Two sizes of pumps are needed. Six each of a pump with a capable of at least 250 L/min and one with a capacity of at least 5,000 L/min 1) Common specs a. Must have no gas sealing fluid, i.e. it should be classified as a dry vacuum pump with an air discharge system b. The dry pump must be consistent with AFRL existing technology in our flow tube apparatus; i.e. it should mate to the current apparatus without redesign (Exhaust connection flange size NW25) c. The vacuum system should be made of stainless steel/aluminum flanges and UHV compatible components, where appropriate d. Any adapters necessary to mate to the current system will be included by the contractor e. Pumping Technology to be a multi stage roots blower f. Cooling: Air g. Must be able to pump from atmospheric pressure h. Maintenance schedule shall be a 3 year or more maintenance free period i. Vibration tolerance should be less than 8 ?mp-p with the inlet closed j. Shipping and handling will be included k. Warranty of at least two years including parts and labor 2) 6 Each, pumps with greater than or equal to 250/min capacity a. Maximum pumping speed shall be or or exceed 250 liters per minute (l/m) b. Size footprint must be compact to fit existing space near the apparatus: (W x H x L) 210 x 250 x 385 mm c. The weight limit shall be 23 kg d. Pump shall be quiet during its operation (56 db max) with the inlet closed e. Supply voltage should be 60 Hz, Single phase AC100-120V f. Inlet flange size should be NW25 g. Ultimate pressure should be at most 1Pa 3) 1 Each; pump with greater than or equal to 5,000/min capacity a. Maximum pumping speed shall or exceed be 5,000 liters per minute (l/m) b. Size footprint must be compact to fit existing space near the apparatus: (W x H x L) 304 x 575 x 574 mm c. The weight limit shall be 125 kg d. Pump shall be quiet during its operation (72 db max) with the inlet closed e. Supply voltage should be 60 Hz, Single phase AC200-240V f. Inlet flange size should be NW50 g. Ultimate pressure should be at most 0.3Pa --- 2. INSTRUCTIONS: All businesses capable of providing Air Cooled Dry Pumps are invited to respond electronically. Responses shall include company name, address, DUNS number, CAGE code, point of contact with email address and telephone number, and indicate business size (small business, small disadvantaged business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business, woman-owned small business, or HUBZone) using NAICS 333914, size standard 750. The Air Force reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside for any subsequent acquisition based upon responses to this notice. Small business respondents should provide a statement of capabilities to assist the Air Force in making a set-aside decision. Statement of Capabilities are limited to 2 pages, and should demonstrate capability to provide Air Cooled Dry Pumps. Responses must be received no later than 1201 MST 24 June 2019, and addressed to Michael Monte, Contract Specialist
