Air Quality & Dust Emissions Monitoring from Idled Lands

The contract involves assessing and monitoring particulate matter emissions, specifically PM10 and PM2.5, originating from fallowed agricultural lands, with the goal of understanding their impact on regional air quality. This work includes conducting atmospheric modeling to predict dust dispersion patterns and developing actionable dust mitigation strategies in close coordination with the California Air Resources Board. The efforts are designed to support compliance with state air quality standards and to inform policy and land management practices aimed at reducing airborne particulate pollution. The project is structured as a subcontract under the NAICS code for scientific consulting services and is being managed by the San Luis and Delta Mendota Water Authority in California, with all activities centered on addressing dust emissions from idle agricultural areas within the state.
