This contract modification, issued by the Naval Air Systems Command, provides procurement funding for contractor furnished aircraft armament equipment specifically for Lot 42A F/A-18E/F aircraft. The scope of the procurement includes a variety of critical components such as pylons for bomb racks, missile launchers, station control units, chaff dispenser units, and various associated fittings, adaptors, and probes. In addition to the equipment procurement, the modification incorporates several administrative changes. Executed as a sole source action under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B), the contract utilizes both Firm Fixed Price and Fixed Price Incentive Firm Target structures. This procurement method was chosen because the items are only available from the original source, and awarding the contract to another provider would likely cause unacceptable delays in meeting agency requirements. The work is performed in Saint Louis, Missouri.
