Alarm Monitoring Services

The City of Medicine Hat has issued Request for Proposals CMH26-112 for Alarm Monitoring Services to manage its existing systems. The scope of work includes 24/7 emergency communications and monitoring for both ULC and non-ULC fire alarms, as well as annual certification reports and occasional hardware repairs or programming support. The contract is for an initial term of one year, with the possibility of four one-year extensions, not to exceed a total duration of five years. Performance is subject to approval by the Manager of Facilities Management and must comply with various federal and provincial codes, including the National Fire Code and Alberta Building Code. Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF via the bidding system by October 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time, with zipped files strictly prohibited. Submissions must include a signed submission form, pricing, a transmittal letter, and confirmation of Complyworks health and safety compliance. The evaluation process uses a 100-point rated criteria system, with pricing weighted at 60 points. The top-ranked proponent will be invited to enter direct contract negotiations. Successful bidders must provide bonding, insurance, and health and safety certification within seven days of the Notice of Award.
