AI Contract Overview

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division intends to procure two ALM-288 Countermeasure Test Set units from BAE Systems on a sole source basis. These units are essential for conducting fast and reliable flight line safety and functional checks of the countermeasure dispenser system specifically for the KC-130J platform. The acquisition is being pursued under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 because BAE Systems is identified as the only responsible source capable of providing the product, and the government lacks the technical data necessary to award the contract competitively. This notice serves as an intent to award rather than an invitation for competitive proposals, though the government will consider responses received within fifteen days of publication. The procurement is managed by the Department of Defense under solicitation number N68335-17-T-0485 and NAICS code 334519. Any decision to compete the requirement remains at the sole discretion of the government.
