The Department of Defense is conducting market research through a sources-sought notice to identify capable providers for the depot-level test and repair of ALR-56M Low Voltage Power Supplies. The scope of work involves several specific power supply units identified by their National Stock Numbers and Part Numbers, and requires the contractor to provide obsolete parts resolution and engineering support for Deficiency Reports and Material Improvement Projects. All repairs must adhere to strict form, fit, function, and interface requirements. Due to the government lacking the necessary data rights and the high cost of reverse engineering, Crane has been identified as the only known source capable of performing these repairs. This opportunity is managed by the Afsc Pzabb office at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia under NAICS code 811210. Interested parties must respond by September 25, 2026.

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to provide depot-level test and repair of the ALR-56M Power Supplies.  The National Stock Numbers (NSN) and Part Numbers (PN) are as follows:

Item                                                             NSN                                      PN

Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS2)        6130-01-408-3805EW            330454-106

Crane designed, tested, manufactured, and maintained custom power supply solutions including Low Voltage Power Supplies (LVPS’s), High Voltage Power Supplies (HVPS’s), and high-powered amplifiers for weapon systems aboard airborne platforms. Their power supplies are incorporated into critical Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, including the AN/ALQ-184, AN/ALR‑56C, and AN/ALQ‑131, demonstrating high quality and exceptional reliability to function effectively for the American and Allied Warfighter.  Crane has extensive experience and know-how providing power supplies for the ALR-56M requirements.

The service shall include providing obsolete parts resolution along with the necessary engineering to investigate Deficiency Reports and Material Improvement Projects (MIPs).

The ALR-56M Power Supplies must meet form, fit, function, and interface requirements as referenced in per 12P3-2ALR56M-24.  However, the Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to compete the repair of this part.  It has been determined to be uneconomical to reverse engineer the data, qualify a new source, or buy the data and/or data rights.  Crane is the only source of known repair for this system and has been since it was fielded.
