Full Description

The Drug Enforcement Administration intends to issue a single, firm fixed price purchase order in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. This is anticipated to be a sole source award to American Science and Engineering, Inc (AS&E), the manufacturer of the Z Backscatter inspection system, which is proprietary due to its patented AS&E technologies. The award will be for maintenance of the Z Backscatter Van. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334517, Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing. This is a total small business set aside requirement. The proposed award is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with AS&E. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotation. A Request for Quoation (RFQ) is not available. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, other than full and open competition is authorized when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. A Limited Sources Documentation is approved and on file. All responses to this notice shall be submitted electronically to contact@example.gov no later than September, 2016 at 11:00am Eastern Time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
