Annual Residential Street Rehabilitation Project Phase 2D

The Annual Residential Street Rehabilitation Project Phase 2D (CIP #18-01) is a public works solicitation issued by the City of Compton Public Works/Municipal Utilities Department for street improvements on Tucker Street, Bradfield Avenue, and Greenleaf Boulevard. The scope of work includes cold milling existing pavement, constructing Asphalt Rubber Hot Mix (ARHM) and AC Base course, installing aggregate base, and full depth AC slot pavement. Additional requirements involve the construction of curb and gutters, sidewalks, cross gutters, alley intersections, driveway approaches, and curb ramps, as well as the installation of signing, striping, speed humps, and traffic signal loops. The contractor is also responsible for adjusting sewer, water, and storm drain manholes to grade, restoring landscaping and irrigation, and adhering to Greenbook and Caltrans Standard Plans, including a 2% cross slope for sidewalks to meet ADA requirements. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who holds a valid State of California Class A Contractor's License or a combination of required specialty licenses. Bidders must submit sealed proposals by August 26, 2026, including a bid bond of at least 10 percent of the bid amount. Successful awardees must provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of the total bid price and maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation. Performance is subject to monthly progress payments with a 5 percent retainage, and the contractor must complete all work at each location within ten working days of starting. Compliance with prevailing wage laws, NPDES pollution standards, and City of Compton noise ordinances is mandatory.
