CDC Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Inhalation Support / TSI MOUDI-II InstrumentThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to award a sole-source contract for the purchase of a Micro Orifice Uniform-Deposit Impactor (MOUDI) from TSI Incorporated through simplified acquisition procedures. This procurement is justified because TSI is the only known supplier capable of providing a MOUDI instrument that meets the specific size classification requirements and the uniform sample deposition necessary for inhalation research. The contract will be a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 334516 and will support work to be performed in Morgantown, West Virginia. Interested parties are not being requested to submit competitive quotes, but those who believe they can fulfill the requirement may submit a capability statement by June 17, 2026, for consideration. The notice emphasizes that responding to this announcement does not guarantee the government will initiate a competitive procurement, and any costs incurred by responders will not be reimbursed. Questions and capability statements should be directed via email to the designated contract specialist, Aminah Gary, at the provided contact information. The decision to proceed with this sole-source acquisition rests solely with the government, which will use any received information to determine if competition is warranted. The Department of Defense, through the Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Labsphere, Inc. for a Uniform Light Source System, under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). This contract is planned under the authority of 10 USC 3572 and is not a solicitation but a notice of intent to contract. The system required is a highly specialized light source capable of providing a wide luminance range over a 16-inch aperture, with full spectral tunability from 0.25 to 2.5 micrometers and a dynamic luminance range simulating environments from moonless night to full daylight. Additional requirements include a uniform radiance calibration source, an integration sphere measurement system for windows and windscreen optical properties, a customized spectrometer for radiometric transfer, and on-site government training. Interested vendors are invited to submit technical packages demonstrating their capability to meet these specific requirements, along with verification of their representations and certifications in accordance with FAR regulations. Responses must include any commercial contract terms relevant to financing, warranty, or delivery as applicable under FAR Part 12.
