The contract DACA31-98-D-0052 is an Indefinite Delivery-Type agreement awarded to NUTEC Design Associates, Inc. on September 11, 1998, initially valued at $750,000 for one base period with two option periods each also valued at $750,000. It primarily covers architect-engineer services related to facilities at Ft. Detrick’s microbiological laboratory, with potential use throughout the Baltimore District. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, which involves high-level security clearances and specialized knowledge of ongoing microbiological research and testing, additional tasks have been requested that require expanding the contract value significantly. NUTEC Design Associates is uniquely qualified given their experience, prior designs, biohazard lab training, and existing security clearances essential for continuing the effort. As a result, the Baltimore District plans to modify the contract by raising the total dollar threshold from $2,250,000 to $2,750,000 and consolidating all contract periods into a single performance period under the increased amount. This modification is intended to streamline contract management while accommodating the expanded scope of work. The action is not a request for proposal but an administrative adjustment to the current agreement held by NUTEC Design Associates to support the critical security and technical requirements at Ft. Detrick.

NA The Government intends to raise the dollar threshold and combine contract periods under contract DACA31-98-D-0052. The contract is an Indefinite Delivery-Type contract advertised in the CBD 1/21/98 for Indefinite Delivery-Type (Multidiscipline)Contract, A JCC Site R PA, Ft. Detrick, MD but may be used throughout the Baltimore District. The contract was awarded to NUTEC Design Associates, Inc. September 11, 1998 for one base period of $750,000.00 and two option periods of $750,000.00. As a result of the Us er requesting additional work be performed in areas requiring high-level security clearances and explicit and unique knowledge of the ongoing research and testing at Ft. Detrick's microbiological laboratory, this additional work will require increase of th e contract value of over $2,250,000.00, but under $2,750,000.00. NUTEC Design Associates, Inc. has been performing the work and has the credentials for the continuation of the ongoing effort. NUTEC has the required training to work within bio-hazardous la bs and has completed several designs. NUTEC's level of knowledge of the existing facility and their level of clearance in the area of concern is expressly unique, as is the nature of the work being performed. Therefore, the Baltimore District is intending to issue a modification to the contract to increase the contract values from $2,250,000.00 to $2,750,000.00 and combine the periods into one period for $2,750,000.00. This is not a request for proposal.
