TITLE Area 3 Nisga’a Treaty Area 2025 - Biotoxin Monitoring Program OBJECTIVE To ensure safe and legal access to intertidal bivalves for Food, Social and Ceremonial purposes for members of the Nisga’a Nation by conducting biotoxin monitoring in the bivalve harvest areas outlined in the Nisga’a Final Agreement. To submit biotoxin samples including target samples on a scheduled frequency that will lead to legal openings for intertidal bivalve harvest and will provide harvesters with on-going information on changing marine biotoxin levels. The Contractor is expected to use methods that are effective and efficient. CONTRACTING PERIOD Each year, biotoxin monitoring station set up will be completed in August and sample collection and submission will commence in September for an early October Nisga’a Food, Social and Ceremonial (FSC) harvest opening, pending acceptable biotoxin results. Monitoring will continue on a scheduled frequency until mid-March, which marks the end of the traditional harvest period. • Initial Contract: Contract award to March 31, 2026 • Option Year #1: April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 • Option Year #2: April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2028 • Option Year #3: April 1, 2028 to March 31, 2029
