The contract relates to the Army Airborne Command and Control System (A2C2S) Full Rate Production (FRP) and provides an update on the acquisition strategy initially outlined in a Request for Information (RFI) from September 2004. That earlier RFI was intended to gather input from interested sources to support planning for A2C2S production starting in fiscal year 2006. However, as of this announcement dated January 2005, the government does not expect to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the full rate production during fiscal year 2005. Any future developments or changes in acquisition strategy will be communicated promptly. The contracting office managing this effort is part of the Department of Defense, specifically located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. No specific details were provided about a set-aside type, NAICS code, or precise place of performance. The announcement emphasizes that while initial planning is ongoing, formal procurement actions have been postponed, reflecting a delay or reassessment in the production timeline for the A2C2S program. Interested parties are advised to monitor updates for any new information or changes in acquisition plans.
