Full Description

The VHA SimLEARN program has identified a need to train medical personnel in the techniques associated with shoulder and knee arthrocentesis procedures. The use of the arthrocentesis shoulder and knee training devices increases the probability of successful arthrocentesis injections and removal of fluids by providing training and instruction of the arthrocentesis procedures used to diagnose pathological conditions and to provide treatment. To satisfy this requirement, the Product Manager Office of Medical Simulation (PdM MedSim) specified the Limbs & Things shoulder and knee arthrocentesis training devices. Currently, the VHA is using the products listed below to meet these training needs and intends to procure additional devices from the same company to maintain standardization and long term sustainment and supportability. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339113 - Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. It is anticipated that the contract type will be a single award Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. This requirement is to purchase the following items: 1. Knee Aspiration & Injection Trainer with Ultrasound Capabilities (70103) 2. Shoulder for Joint Injection (30010) ACQUISITION APPROACH: The contract will be issued on a Sole Source basis in accordance with Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in Federal Regulation Acquisition (FAR) 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to award a contract to Limbs & Things Inc., 6 Mall Ct #2, Savannah, GA 31406 NOTICE: This notice is being provided to verify that no other sources can meet this requirement given the Government's required delivery schedule to meet the current need for these items.
