Full Description

The Military Sealift Command will be assuming operation of the USS FRANK CABLE, a submarine tender, in February of 2010. Shortly thereafter, the CABLE will undergo an extensive availability to modify the ship for MSC operation. The CABLE is homeported in Guam; therefore, the availability is planned to be accomplished in Guam. In preparation for that availability and due to the extensive amount of material that is required, MSC plans to issue a contract for the procurement of long-lead time material (LLTM) in support of the USS FRANK CABLE CIVMOD. The contract will be issued sole-source to Guam Shipyards under a J&A for work and material relating to ship availabilities. The RFP for the LLTM is expected to be released by the end of July or early August 2009.
