AssetVue hardware/supplies, Software licensing & maintenance, and support services for RFID Project

This acquisition was a sole-source to FCN to purchase AssetVue brand name products. IRS procured hardware/supplies, Software licensing and maintenance, and support services in support of the radio frequency identification (RFID) Project. The Asset Vue suite of software is the only commercial off-the-shelf software specifically designed for use in the computer room environment that leverages RFID scanning technology. The AssetVue product is unique among all other asset tracking products because the AssetVue product suite is designed specifically for IT computer room / data center environment and provides data center specific information of the IT assets in the computer room and associates that information with managing the environment. The AssetVue software tracks the relationship among the hardware assets and the physical build configuration within the computer room to the exact location (down to the blade, or drive bay). This enables IRS respond to trouble reports more quickly and efficiently. It also enables the agency to measure and manage resource utilization such as space and power demand/distribution. The agency will also improve its financial accountability responsibilities by accurately tracking and reporting asset status, resolving several weaknesses identified in TIGTA audits. The contractor, FCN, is the only Assetvue reseller. Assetvue developed and owns the propriety and patented software and algorithms that are used in these products and support the services specifically required for this acquisition; therefore, the proposed vendor is the only source for Assetvue's unique products, technically knowledgeable staff and ancillary resources required for this acquisition.
