PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a Pre-Solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not an Invitation for Bids. No response is requested at this time. An Invitation for Bids will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, and the construction plans & specifications. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE INVITATION FOR BIDS ANNOUNCEMENT PLANNED IFB: The final IFB for this project will be announced no sooner than 15 calendar days from the date of the Pre-Solicitation announcement. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of furnishing all plant, equipment, labor, transportation, fuel, lubricant, supplies and materials; and performing all operations in connection with maintenance dredging of approximately 1,800,000 cubic yards of unclassified material from the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) between Georgetown and Charleston, South Carolina. Contractor must be capable of performing all operations in connection with raising dikes and berms, installation of shoreline protection, and installation of new spillway systems in AIWW Placement areas 204N/225N W-C and 341N/364N W-C, including clearing and appurtenant items. The dredged materials for each CLIN shall be deposited in the placement area(s) as described in the plans and specifications for this contract. The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act.
