Auburn General Plan Update

The City of Auburn is preparing to update its General Plan, a state-mandated strategic document that will guide the community’s growth and development over the next two decades. This update will establish policies and frameworks across key areas including land use, transportation, housing, environmental conservation, open space, and public safety, ensuring that future development aligns with the community’s long-term vision. The process aims to strike a careful balance between accommodating growth and preserving Auburn’s unique character and quality of life, while also providing clear, consistent guidelines for residents, developers, and city leaders to follow in an efficient and cost-effective manner. To achieve these goals, the city is committed to a thorough and inclusive public engagement process that invites broad participation from all community members. The Planning Director, Tia Klumpp, and Project Manager Aileen Mahoney are leading the initiative, ensuring that the updated plan reflects community values and priorities while complying with state requirements.
