AI Contract Overview
The FDA is seeking market information for an Automated Robotic Liquid Handling System designed to automate DNA shearing and bead purification steps for long-read sequencing library preparation, specifically supporting PacBio Sequel IIe workflows. The system must handle up to 96 samples with a pipetting range of 1–1000 µL and accuracy within 5% error, and must be capable of working with 96-well and 384-well plates, reagent reservoirs, and magnetic separation systems while transferring liquids between plates and tube racks. It must support at least two additional user-defined workflows beyond the base protocol, include safety stop mechanisms for door openings or errors, operate on standard 110V power, and fit within a compact footprint under 30 inches wide by 25 inches deep. The requirement includes consumables for at least 96 samples, and the system must be new—not refurbished or used—with a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty covering parts, labor, software support, firmware updates, and technical support. Installation must be performed by a manufacturer-certified technician within 30 days of delivery, and on-site training of at least two users for one to two days must be provided, covering operation, maintenance, and workflow programming. All deliverables, including system documentation and verification, must be completed within 30 days after installation. This is a Sources Sought Notice under solicitation number SSN_CVM_2026_133678, issued as a market research tool by the FDA Office of Acquisition and Grant Services in Rockville, Maryland, with the anticipated performance location at the FDA CVM Laboratory Facility in Laurel, Maryland. The acquisition is structured as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under FAR 19.5, with NAICS code 334516 and a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. Vendors are required to submit capability statements in PDF format—no more than 10 pages excluding product literature—by June 10, 2026, to Reagan Davis via email. Responses must include company details, UEI, business size and socio-economic status, relevant experience, a description of how the proposed system meets all salient requirements, the ability to meet the 60-day delivery timeline, GSA Schedule information if applicable, identification of the manufacturer, country of origin, and any subcontracting opportunities with small businesses.
