Beam Administration Building AHU Redesign

Gaston College is soliciting bids for the Beam Administration Building AHU Redesign project at the Dallas Campus in North Carolina. The scope of work involves the removal of the existing steam-powered heating system and the installation of a new hot water heating system, which includes one condensing boiler, a primary pump for boiler water circulation, a new air handler, an ion generating air purifier, and a new air and dirt separator. All work must comply with the 2018 North Carolina Building Code and relevant OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards. The contractor is also required to provide training and a scheduled walk-through for facilities maintenance personnel upon completion. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder based on a lump sum price that includes a material and labor breakdown. Bidders must submit two signed original proposal responses in sealed packages by 2:00 PM on September 17, 2026. Required submission documents include a proposed construction schedule, warranty information, a list of public projects completed in the last three years, three professional references, a W-9 form, and a Certificate of Insurance. The project is funded in part or in whole by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) Fiscal Recovery Funds. Selected contractors must provide performance and payment bonds for the full contract amount and adhere to minority business participation requirements for contracts valued at 300,000 dollars or greater.
