Big Basin Redwoods State Park General Plan Supplemental EIR for the Reimagining Big Basin Redwoods State Park Facilities Management Plan and General Plan

The project centers on the Reimagining Big Basin Redwoods State Park Facilities Management Plan and related amendments to the 2013 General Plan, following the devastation of the 2020 CZU Lightning Complex Fire. Spanning approximately 5,500 acres in Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties, the initiative aims to restore and reimagine visitor facilities, emergency response systems, trails, utilities, and ecological resilience across 19 identified sites in five focus zones. All work must occur within designated staging areas to prevent contamination, with heavy equipment cleaning restricted to off-site locations. Performance timelines are narrow, with the active project phase scheduled from October 17, 2025, to December 1, 2025, aligned with the Local Public Review Period.
